Portland, OR (June 10, 2025) – Tragedy unfolded Monday evening after a deadly crash involving a Sport Utility Vehicle and a semi-trailer truck on Northwest St. Helens Road, also known as Highway 30.

According to reports, officers from the Portland Police North Precinct were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Bridge Avenue around 7:24 p.m. on June 9, 2025. Emergency responders arrived to find a severely damaged SUV that had collided with the rear of a slowing or stopped semi-truck.

The SUV’s driver was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her passenger was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is leading the investigation. Northwest St. Helens Road was closed north of Northwest Bridge Avenue while authorities documented the scene.
