New Orleans, LA (January 1, 2025) – A deadly vehicle attack rocked the French Quarter early New Year’s Day, leaving at least 10 people dead and 35 others injured. Authorities identified the suspect as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen and Army veteran from Texas. Officials say Jabbar drove his truck, adorned with an ISIS flag, through makeshift barriers before plowing into pedestrians. He was fatally shot in a gunfight with police following the attack.
