Dayton, TX (November 21, 2025) – Two pedestrians were injured Wednesday night in Dayton after a multi-vehicle incident led to a car being pushed into them during a peaceful cross-country walk.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 90 near State Highway 99. A vehicle traveling on US-90 was struck by a truck, causing it to veer off course and strike two Buddhist monks who were walking alongside the road.
The monks were part of a group engaged in a walk for peace across the country. One of the men suffered serious lower-body injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. The other sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance. Both are expected to survive.
