Florence, KY (December 11, 2025) – A terrifying incident unfolded Tuesday morning in northern Kentucky when a car slammed into the front of a UPS Store along US 42 in Florence, pinning a man beneath the vehicle.
According to the Kentucky State Police, first responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash was reported. Eyewitnesses say an older woman drove a vehicle into the storefront, shattering the glass entrance and sending debris throughout the business.
During the crash, a man was trapped beneath the vehicle with a tire pinning his leg. In a dramatic and heroic moment, several bystanders—including barbers and customers from the nearby Nells Barber Shop—rushed out and worked together to lift the car off the man. Nearby nurses applied a tourniquet while awaiting fire and EMS crews.
The victim, identified as Brian Smith, later returned to thank his rescuers in person. The UPS Store has since reopened following inspection by the fire marshal.
