Rush Township, PA (September 4, 2025) – A tragic collision in Schuylkill County on Tuesday afternoon has claimed the life of a 90-year-old driver following a two-vehicle accident involving a transit van.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on September 2 in the 800 block of Barnesville Drive in Rush Township. Authorities report that Raymond Dawson of Rush Township was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles when it collided with a transit van.
Emergency responders transported Dawson to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, where he was pronounced dead at 4:44 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. The coroner confirmed that Dawson died from multiple blunt force injuries caused by the collision. His death has officially been ruled accidental.
