Louisville, KY (October 14, 2025) – A man has died from injuries sustained in a serious collision with a work truck that occurred on September 19 along Interstate 65 near mile marker 124, close to the Jefferson-Bullitt County line. The fatality was confirmed by Louisville Metro Police on October 11.

According to the Kentucky State Police, the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. when a passenger vehicle traveling northbound in the third lane of I-65 suddenly drifted across lanes and collided with a disabled work truck parked on the right shoulder. The truck had experienced a tire blowout and was awaiting a tow.

Emergency crews had to extricate the driver of the passenger vehicle from the wreckage. He was transported to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to those injuries on October 11. The driver of the work truck, who had exited the vehicle and was standing nearby, was unharmed.
