According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. on January 24 along North Service Road, just east of Park Drive. The vehicle involved was a 2026 Chevrolet Equinox traveling east when it veered off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver, a 62-year-old man from Warrenton, was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 42-year-old passenger from Wright City was also taken to the hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
