Loving County, TX (August 16, 2025) — A deadly head-on crash Thursday night claimed the life of a Lubbock man and left another driver injured in Loving County, according to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to reports, the collision occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on August 14 on State Highway 302 near mile marker 203. Authorities say 39-year-old Joshua Andrew Ramirez of Lubbock was driving a pickup truck eastbound when he crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a vehicle towing a trailer.

The other driver, 41-year-old Mariza Herrera Guerrero of El Centro, California, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Ramirez, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services and DPS troopers responded to investigate the cause of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
