Marietta, GA (September 10, 2025) – A chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles shut down I-75 southbound early Monday morning and sent three people to the hospital.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 3:00 a.m. on September 9 near the interchange at the Canton Connector. Police say an unknown vehicle side-swiped a tractor-trailer, sparking a series of collisions.
The impact caused the tractor-trailer to strike a Chevy Equinox, which then spun out and overturned. All three adults inside the Equinox were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the tractor-trailer remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. However, the driver of the initial vehicle that allegedly caused the crash fled before officers arrived. Authorities are reviewing area surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspect.
Traffic was delayed for about an hour as officers cleared the scene and reopened all lanes by 4:00 a.m.
