Parsons, KS (October 27, 2024) – A collision involving a vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy in southeast Kansas left two individuals with serious injuries, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday along U.S. Highway 400, between Chase and Brown roads in northwestern Labette County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Ford Escape traveling eastbound collided with the back of the buggy, which was also heading east in the outside lane and partially on the shoulder.
Eyewitnesses reported to the Montgomery County Chronicle that the impact of the crash ejected the occupants of the buggy onto the highway.
The two injured individuals, identified as a 35-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, both from Cherryvale, were transported to a hospital in Parsons for treatment. The driver of the Ford, a 27-year-old woman, was unharmed in the incident.
