Merced County, CA. (October 8, 2025) – A man died in a head-on crash early Tuesday morning on Highway 59 near Oakdale Road in Merced County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision occurred around 6:20 a.m. on October 8. A Ford Fusion traveling along Highway 59 reportedly crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a dump truck.
The driver of the Ford Fusion, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The driver of the dump truck remained at the location and cooperated with investigators. Authorities have not released further information about possible contributing factors.
