According to the Illinois State Police the collision occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. on February 20 in the 3500 block of North Elston Avenue. Authorities reported that a Toyota RAV4 traveling northbound disregarded a traffic signal and struck a Toyota Prius that was traveling southbound near Kedzie Avenue. A 25 year old male passenger in the Toyota Prius was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
