Nacimiento Lake, CA (September 23, 2025) – One person was killed Monday afternoon after a vehicle veered off the roadway, crashed, and burst into flames near Nacimiento Lake.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on September 23 at the intersection of Nacimiento Lake Drive and Steelhead Road. Emergency radio traffic indicated that the vehicle left the road and ignited a small brush fire measuring approximately 10-by-10 feet in size.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the vegetation blaze by 2:08 p.m., but the vehicle itself remained fully engulfed with an occupant trapped inside. Medics arrived on scene and began life-saving efforts, including CPR, once the fire was extinguished.
Despite their efforts, CPR was discontinued at 2:25 p.m., and the coroner was requested. The victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed or released.
