Enfield, CT (September 14, 2025) – A tragic crash involving a passenger vehicle and a municipal lawnmower claimed the life of an Enfield town employee on Friday afternoon, according to local authorities.
According to the Enfield Police Department, the fatal incident occurred along North Main Street on September 13. Jamie Nickerson, a Department of Public Works employee, was operating a town-issued lawnmower when they were struck by a vehicle traveling on the roadway.
Nickerson was transported to Baystate Medical Center but sadly succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the car, identified as Alexander Torres, was also seriously injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
