Hesperia, CA (November 22, 2025) – A man from Hesperia was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle head-on collision along Summit Valley Road, just north of Highway 138.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on November 18. Leandro Aguirre, 43, was driving a 2005 Honda northbound when his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on into a southbound 2007 Nissan SUV.
Emergency responders arrived to find both vehicles heavily damaged. Aguirre was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Nissan’s driver, a woman from Apple Valley, was hospitalized, but her current condition has not been released.
A preliminary report indicates that an unidentified white SUV may have played a role in the crash. Authorities say it swerved near another vehicle, causing one of the drivers to lose control. That SUV fled the scene and was last seen heading west on Highway 138.
The CHP Victorville Office is leading the investigation.
