Houston, TX (September 17, 2025) – Two individuals, including a U.S. Marshal, were injured Tuesday evening in a violent five-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Houston’s East Side.

According to the Houston Police Department, the accident occurred at approximately 6:53 p.m. on September 16 along the East Freeway (I-10) near Uvalde Road.

Investigators say a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with another vehicle, sending it airborne over the freeway median. The airborne vehicle then struck multiple cars traveling in the opposite direction, triggering a five-vehicle chain reaction.

One person was trapped inside the wreckage and later transported by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Their condition has not yet been confirmed. A U.S. Marshal involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

The freeway was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The crash is under active investigation.
