Richmond Township, PA (October 18, 2024) — A 75-year-old man lost his life in a collision on Wednesday when the Jeep Patriot he was driving was struck by a Kenworth tractor-trailer.

The crash occurred around 2:47 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 6 and 549, according to police reports. Authorities identified the victim as Ronald Padleski of Mainsburg, PA.

Padleski had been pulling away from the side of Route 549, attempting to turn left onto eastbound Route 6, when his vehicle was hit by a westbound Kenworth T800 tractor-trailer, driven by 58-year-old Patrick Powers of Mansfield.

Following the crash, Padleski was transported to UPMC, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police noted that Padleski was wearing both his lap and shoulder belt at the time of the accident.
