Fayette County, IA (August 20, 2025) – A Cedar Rapids man was left with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision Monday evening in Fayette County.
News sources show the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 7:27 p.m. on August 18 at the intersection of Filmore Road and Cedar Road. Deputies reported that 21-year-old Jackson Roushar was driving an SUV northbound on Cedar Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck an eastbound semi truck. The semi was operated by 31-year-old Taran Sherburne of Clarksville.
Roushar suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The SUV was declared a total loss, while the semi sustained an estimated $80,000 in damage. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
