Eaton County, MI (August 19, 2025) – A Tuesday morning two-vehicle collision in Eaton County left one man dead and another with serious injuries.
According to reports, Michigan State Police troopers were called to the scene at M-43 Highway and Benton Road around 9:10 a.m. Investigators said an 18-year-old from Grand Ledge was driving a 2002 Chevy Silverado northbound on Benton Road when he failed to stop at the intersection. His vehicle collided with a 2011 Ford Focus driven by a 42-year-old Lansing man traveling eastbound on M-43 Highway.
The Ford Focus driver was rushed to University of Michigan Health–Sparrow, where he later died. The Silverado driver was also hospitalized with serious injuries, though his current condition has not been released. Authorities have not yet determined if impairment was a factor. The roadway was shut down as troopers investigated the deadly crash.
