Prince George’s County, MD (August 20, 2025) – A woman was killed in a highly unusual accident Monday afternoon when her vehicle was struck by a tire that separated from another vehicle on the Capital Beltway.
According to reports, Maryland State Police said the incident happened around 2:00 p.m. on August 18 near Medical Center Drive. Investigators determined that the rear driver’s-side tire of a Dodge Ram 1500 traveling northbound came loose, bouncing into the southbound lanes. The tire struck a Lexus NX200t driven by 59-year-old Tammy Lynn Edwards of Washington, D.C.
