Cozad, NE (August 20, 2025) – An elderly driver was killed Tuesday afternoon in a collision between an SUV and a cement truck in Cozad.
According to reports, the crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on August 19, 2025, along Highway 30. Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol said a Chevrolet Equinox attempted to make a left turn from eastbound Highway 30 onto a residential street when it turned in front of a westbound cement truck. The two vehicles collided in the roadway.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 80-year-old Linda Bubak of Cozad, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cement truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
