Jackson County, OR (August 21, 2025) – A southern Oregon woman tragically lost her life in a solo-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 99 in Jackson County.
According to reports, the fatal crash happened at approximately 2:50 p.m. on August 19 near milepost 8. The Oregon State Police identified the victim as 59-year-old Katrina Ann Knight of Grants Pass.
Authorities say Knight was driving a Ford Ranger southbound on Highway 99 when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, and struck a utility pole. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash and pronounced Knight dead at the scene.
The highway was closed for roughly an hour while the Oregon State Police and Oregon Department of Transportation conducted an on-site investigation.
