Clackamas County, OR (August 21, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in Clackamas County claimed the life of a Sandy man on Monday afternoon, according to Oregon State Police.

According to reports, the collision occurred at 1:03 p.m. on August 18 at the intersection of Highway 26 and Orient Drive in Sandy.

Authorities said a GMC Savannah van, driven by 46-year-old Ivan Bahena of Gresham, was traveling eastbound on Highway 26 when it reportedly experienced a mechanical failure. The van crashed into the back of a Honda Fit, which had slowed for a red light at Orient Drive.

The impact caused the Honda to collide with an Infiniti QX5 that was already stopped at the light. The Honda’s driver, identified as 48-year-old Bryan Ray Robinson of Sandy, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the other two vehicles, Bahena and 52-year-old Cassandra Lea Bellingham of Portland, suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
