Apple Valley, CA (August 21, 2025) – A man riding a motorized shopping cart was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Apple Valley, according to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. on August 19 near the intersection of Dale Evans Parkway and Zuni Road.
Deputies stated that a 49-year-old man from Barstow was driving a gray Mazda B-series northbound on Dale Evans Parkway when he struck a 53-year-old man who was also heading north in the same lane while riding a motorized shopping cart. The victim was hit from behind.
Emergency responders transported the injured man to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
