Bridgeport, WV (January 4, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision on I-79 near the Jerry Dove exit on Friday afternoon. The accident, involving at least four vehicles, occurred in the southbound lanes near exit 124 around 3:45 p.m., according to Harrison County 911.
Authorities reported that two individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
The crash caused significant disruptions, with I-79 southbound lanes remaining closed as of 5:30 p.m. Crews from the Anmoore and Bridgeport fire departments, along with police from Bridgeport and Clarksburg, and Harrison County EMS, worked at the scene.
