Bourne, MA (August 23, 2025) – A serious crash involving a pickup truck and SUV on the Bourne Bridge Friday night resulted in multiple injuries and led to the arrest of one driver on a long list of charges.
According to reports, Massachusetts State Police responded to the two-vehicle collision on Route 25 around 9:30 p.m. on August 22. Officials say a Ford F-250 rear-ended an SUV, prompting the closure of all travel lanes on the Bourne Bridge as emergency personnel arrived.
Three occupants of the SUV sustained various injuries. One was seriously injured and required trauma care. All were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The pickup driver, Garret Mullen, 37, of Lewiston, Maine, was arrested at the scene after authorities found signs of impairment and illegal firearm possession. Mullen is facing several charges, including felony OUI, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.
The bridge was reopened to traffic around 10:40 p.m.
