Lubbock, TX (August 24, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash in Lubbock on Friday claimed the life of one man and left three others injured, according to local police. The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old David Ramirez.
According to reports, the accident occurred on August 22 near the intersection of Marsha Sharp Freeway and Interstate 27. Authorities say a passenger car was heading west on the 500 block of the Marsha Sharp Freeway access road when it collided with a southbound tractor-trailer on the 200 block of the I-27 access road. The impact sent the passenger car into a traffic signal pole.
David Ramirez, a passenger in the car, was transported to University Medical Center, where he later died. The driver of the car, 33-year-old Devin Ramirez, suffered moderate injuries. Two other passengers, Lousina Guerrero, 33, and Davian Ramirez, 17, sustained injuries but were not hospitalized. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 40-year-old Jared Armstrong, was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation.
