CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (January 6, 2025) – A single-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. on I-55 northbound near the 111.6-mile marker in Cape Girardeau County, leaving two individuals with minor injuries.

According to reports, a 2013 Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound when it veered off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable. The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Seyers.

The driver, a 72-year-old male from Lake Saint Louis, MO, and an 87-year-old male occupant, also from Lake Saint Louis, both sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash and were transported to St. Francis Hospital by emergency medical services.

The crash is under investigation by local authorities, with additional updates pending.
