According to reports, the collision occurred just before midnight on August 21 near McKinley Avenue. CHP investigators say a Hyundai Elantra traveling westbound struck the rear of a motorcycle, causing the rider to be ejected onto the roadway.

Instead of rendering aid, the driver of the Hyundai initially pulled over and then fled the scene on foot or in another vehicle. Moments later, a second vehicle struck the motorcyclist while he was lying on the ground. That driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement.
