According to reports, the deadly collision occurred around 9:33 p.m. on August 23 just north of Winchester Road. Authorities say a black BMW M4 was heading northbound on I-15 at a high rate of speed when it veered left, slammed into the median, and crossed into southbound lanes. The BMW then collided with a white Nissan Sentra, leading to a fiery aftermath.
The BMW caught fire following the impact. Bystanders managed to pull the 25-year-old male driver from Moreno Valley from the burning vehicle. He was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center with severe injuries. Tragically, his three passengers— a 23-year-old woman and two teens, aged 14 and 15, also from Moreno Valley—were killed at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan, a 35-year-old man from Wildomar, died while being transported to the hospital. His 22-year-old front-seat passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
CHP confirmed that alcohol was not a factor, though criminal charges are under consideration as the investigation continues.
