Harris County, TX (August 26, 2025) – A major crash involving nine vehicles, including an 18-wheeler carrying bricks, shut down the westbound mainlanes of U.S. Highway 290 near West Road early Monday morning, August 25.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just before West Road and led to multiple critical injuries. Authorities say the driver of a Toyota Camry lost control and struck the steering axle of the 18-wheeler, causing the big rig to crash into a barrier wall. The trailer, fully loaded with bricks, partially overturned on top of the barrier.
