Petersburg, KY (August 26, 2025) – A tragic workplace accident claimed the life of a 42-year-old man and seriously injured another individual after a work truck overturned in a ravine Thursday evening, August 22, in Boone County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, the incident happened just after 7:00 p.m. along Lawrenceburg Ferry Road. Authorities say a freightliner truck operated by Road Safety Systems LLC was being controlled from its rear panel as workers installed roadside guardrails in the area. For unknown reasons, the vehicle backed over an embankment and overturned, pinning one of the workers.

The pinned worker, identified as Robert Kinsella of Hopewell Junction, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second individual was struck during the rollover and airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. That individual remains in stable condition.
