Candia, NH – Two Hospitalized After Ambulance Crashes on Old Candia Road

Candia, NH (January 8, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized Monday evening after an ambulance crashed on Old Candia Road, according to local firefighters.

The crash occurred just before 7:00 p.m. as the ambulance was returning to the station. Authorities report that the driver suffered a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to veer into the opposite lane. The ambulance struck several small trees and a traffic sign before coming to rest in a water-filled ditch.

First responders found the driver unresponsive and the other occupant in need of medical attention. Both were transported to the Elliot Hospital. One occupant has since been discharged, while the driver remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The passenger, who was able to exit the vehicle after the crash, provided critical assistance to the driver until additional medical crews arrived on the scene. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
