Bakersfield, CA (August 27, 2025) – A 23-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning in a violent crash at the intersection of Panama Lane and Stine Road. The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Chasie Aquino Carino of Delano.
According to local law enforcement, the crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. on August 24. Investigators say a vehicle traveling westbound on Panama Lane collided with a vehicle heading south on Stine Road. Chasie Carino, a passenger in the southbound car, was ejected due to the force of the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle Carino was in suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The other driver sustained only minor injuries. Authorities stated that both speed and possible impairment contributed to the crash.
In a separate incident, two additional drivers were arrested for DUI after crashing through barricades at the crash site.
