Pierce City, MO (August 27, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Lawrence County left one driver injured and both vehicles heavily damaged, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol officials.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 10:41 a.m. on August 26 along County Road 2200, about four miles north of Pierce City. Authorities reported that an 80-year-old woman from Pierce City was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox northbound when she failed to yield and was struck by an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 27-year-old man from Wentworth.
The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene by Silverado Towing. The elderly driver sustained minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment. Both drivers were reported to have been wearing seatbelts.
The Silverado driver was not injured, and both vehicles were insured. The crash remains under investigation.
