Aurora, MO (August 27, 2025) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday evening after being forced off the road by another vehicle in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Lawrence 2210 and Business Route 60 in Aurora.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:17 p.m. on August 26. A 65-year-old man from Aurora was riding a 2000 Yamaha VStar 1100 eastbound when a Chevrolet truck, also traveling eastbound, ran the motorcycle off the roadway. The truck fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was reported to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Yamaha was secured by a family member. The Chevrolet truck involved has not been located, and its driver remains unidentified.
