Wyandotte County, KS (August 27, 2025) – Two drivers were transported to the hospital following a rear-end collision early Tuesday morning on K32 in Wyandotte County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 12:50 a.m. on August 26 near mile marker 28.2 of K32, roughly 0.2 miles east of 65th Street in the eastbound lanes. Investigators say that a 2023 Ford, driven by 51-year-old Patrick McCallop of Kansas City, Kansas, was traveling westbound behind another 2023 Ford Explorer operated by 35-year-old Jarael Hicks, also of Kansas City.
As Vehicle 2 began slowing down, McCallop’s vehicle failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the Explorer. Both vehicles sustained damage and were removed by the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.
Both drivers were transported to KU Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that both were wearing safety restraints at the time of the collision.
