Marion County, OR (August 28, 2025) – A tragic wrong-way collision claimed the life of one man and left another critically injured early Tuesday morning on Interstate 5 near milepost 267.
According to the Oregon State Police , the crash occurred at about 4:26 a.m. when a northbound Infiniti G35, driven in the southbound lanes by 20-year-old K’Rondre’ Demarcus Minor of Gresham, collided head-on with a Honda Civic traveling southbound. The Honda was driven by 22-year-old Desmond Antwan Diamond of Saint Helens.
Minor was taken to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Diamond was also transported in critical condition and remains under medical care. The accident blocked the interstate for nearly five hours while crews responded to the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
