Walnut Grove, MO (August 29, 2025) – A man from Walnut Grove died Thursday evening after a crash involving three vehicles on State Highway 123, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to MSHP, the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on August 28. Investigators say the 55-year-old driver attempted to pass an SUV on Highway 123 near Washington Street when he swerved to avoid an oncoming van. Despite the maneuver, his vehicle struck both the SUV and the van.
The driver, who was from Walnut Grove, died at the scene. His name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The van’s driver and a 13-year-old passenger sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital in Springfield. No injuries were reported among the SUV’s occupants.
