Bethany, OR (August 30, 2025) – A tragic pedestrian accident earlier this week has claimed the life of 73-year-old Muoi Du, who was struck by a vehicle while walking in Bethany. The crash occurred around 10:52 a.m. on August 26 at the intersection of NW Deerfield Way and NW West Union Road, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities in Washington County reported that the driver of a gray Acura TSX was attempting to turn onto NW Deerfield Way from NW Union Avenue when the vehicle struck Du.
Emergency medical responders transported Du to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, she passed away from her injuries on Thursday.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Impairment is not suspected at this time. The crash remains under active investigation by the sheriff’s office.
