Madera County, CA (August 30, 2025) – A 65-year-old man tragically lost his life in a rollover crash Friday afternoon in Madera County. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on August 29 along Avenue 12 west of Road 30.
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol report that the man was a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu traveling westbound on Avenue 12. For reasons still under investigation, the woman driving the vehicle veered onto the right shoulder, struck a ditch, overturned, and collided with two almond trees.
The male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. CHP officials confirmed he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
