According to the Oregon State Police, the deadly crash occurred around 4:22 p.m. on August 27 near milepost 272 in Union County. Haes was driving a white Ford F-350 westbound when the vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons.
The pickup reportedly left the highway, struck a tree, and then dropped into a creek bed. Emergency crews responded to the scene but were unable to save the driver. Jejo Haes was pronounced dead at the crash site.
