Anderson County, TN (September 2, 2025) – A woman was hospitalized early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a serious pedestrian crash that resulted in multiple felony charges against the driver, according to authorities.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on September 1 in the 100 block of Haney Hollow Road, located in the Marlow community of Anderson County.
Deputies from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene to find 37-year-old Wanda Phillips critically injured. She was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Timothy Black of Oak Ridge, reportedly fled the scene but was later taken into custody. He now faces a long list of charges, including two counts of aggravated assault, first-degree attempted murder, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene, failure to report, and more.
