Voluntown, CT (September 2, 2025) – A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital Sunday morning following a collision with a dirt bike in Voluntown, according to state police.
According to the Connecticut State Police, the crash happened around 10:27 a.m. in the 200 block of Preston City Road. Investigators reported that the southbound motorcyclist struck a dirt bike and then veered into an embankment off the northbound shoulder.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was flown by LIFESTAR to Rhode Island Hospital for advanced treatment. The dirt bike operator was taken to Backus Hospital with minor injuries. Authorities closed the roadway for investigation but have since reopened it.
