According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. on August 31, near the intersection of Sea World Drive and West Mission Bay Drive. Officers initially responded to a two-vehicle crash at around 2 a.m. and found that one vehicle had rear-ended the other. At that time, they did not find any victims on site.
