According to the Oregon State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 7:26 p.m. on August 31 along Highway 34 near milepost 10. Authorities reported that Russell entered the westbound lanes of the highway and was struck by a Dodge Avenger driven by 27-year-old Breanna Demae Fitch of Lebanon.
Russell suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Fitch sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
