San Bernardino County, CA (September 4, 2025) – A devastating crash near Kramer Junction claimed the lives of two people Friday afternoon, including 19-year-old Jannalise Santoyo Lara of Madera. The collision occurred at about 3:15 p.m. on August 30 at the intersection of Highway 395 and Alcudia Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol , Lara was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry southbound when she veered into the northbound lanes and struck a 2010 Audi A4 head-on. The impact caused the Audi to be rear-ended by a 2019 Kia Niro traveling behind it. Tragically, Lara and a 21-year-old Ridgecrest man in the Audi both died at the scene. The driver of the Kia, a 60-year-old man from Tehachapi, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
