San Jose, CA (September 10, 2025) – A woman killed in a deadly hit-and-run scooter crash last month near downtown San Jose has been identified by authorities as 52-year-old Monica Ibarra, a resident of San Francisco.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred around 8 a.m. on August 8 at the intersection of Santa Clara Street and Cahill Street. Ibarra was reportedly riding a scooter northbound in the crosswalk when she was struck by an eastbound 2021 black Ram pickup truck.

Emergency responders transported Ibarra to a nearby hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
