A 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 29-year-old Morgan L. Wakefield of Mound City, Kansas, was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 2018 Ram 1500 pickup.

Wakefield was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to the mortuary by Forensic Medical services.

Hale, 31, and 9-year-old Lily Albright, all from Independence, Kansas, suffered suspected minor injuries and were transported to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
