Barry County, MO (September 10, 2025) – Two men were injured Tuesday afternoon in a serious two-vehicle crash along Missouri Route 37, just one mile south of Monett.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. on September 9. A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 69-year-old man from Cassville, was slowing in traffic due to congestion when it was rear-ended by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 38-year-old man from Purdy.
After the initial impact, the Purdy driver’s vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, striking a stop sign, a guide wire, and a fence before coming to rest.
Both vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the scene. The driver from Purdy suffered moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. The Cassville driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, also sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to the same facility.
